Hans Meijer

April 16,1952 - February 3, 2009

I first met Hans in 2001 at a workshop that was being held in south Florida. I also met Bob of Ropemarks at the same time. They were both featured presenters. I crossed paths again at another convention in central Florida in 2002.

Hans was a deeply committed gentleman to the art of Japanese Rope. He shared extensively through is Powerotics website which many aspects of BDSM.

I have heard tat he sufferd from a disease of the liver for many years until until his passing in February of 2009.

Perhaps it was his creativity and imagination that angered the purists of the Art.  Hans was the sort of man that people either greatly respected dispised, but is passion for knowledge and the art was unquestioned.

Hans was probably the reason through his website and writings that many in Europe found their own passion for Shibari. He will be missed.
